Dufour Aerospace is developing an eVTOL platform based on tilt-wing technology combined with a hybrid-electric propulsion approach. Dufour is looking for experienced and enthusiastic domain experts to join us and contribute to our technology and product development journey. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Battery Specialist to join our growing team in Switzerland. In this multidisciplinary role, you will be part of the propulsion team and work on our next-generation aircraft's onboard Energy Storage System (ESS).

• Define requirements and verification/validation plans for critical components of the ESS
• Coordinate with cell manufacturers, suppliers, and external test partners
• Be the subject matter expert on Battery design and integration questions
• Conduct trade-off studies on packaging efficiency, thermal, vibration, cycle life and impact on operations, and advance our design towards an optimal solution
• Design and certify the Battery Management System (BMS) and refine SoC/SoH models
• Work closely with the ESS mechanical engineering team
• Ensure compliance with DO-311, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP4754, etc. (as applicable)

• BSc or MSc Degree in a related field (e.g., Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Power or Embedded Systems, Electro-Chemistry, Physics, etc.)
• Prior experience in developing battery systems for high voltage electric powertrains
• Good understanding of engineering fundamentals (fluid dynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Prior experience with cell testing, modelling and failure analysis of lithium-based cells
• Working with live circuits
• Aviation background
• Python
