Aero2 becomes Aero-200: A clear step toward market readiness

September 8, 2025

Zurich, September 8, 2025: Dufour Aerospace has taken a major step forward in its journey toward commercial launch: the transition of its tilt-wing aircraft Aero2 to Aero-200. This new designation reflects the aircraft’s maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and marks the beginning of a more transparent, scalable naming convention across the Swiss aerospace developer's product family.

As a tilt-wing hybrid propulsion aircraft, the Aero-200 is designed for versatility, efficiency, and sustainability. The Aero brand, under which the company’s aircraft have flown successfully in recent years, remains central to its identity. The new numerical designation aligns directly with MTOW, making it easier for partners and customers to understand each aircraft’s payload and range capabilities; two of the most critical factors in logistics and emergency response.

Following this principle, Aero2 becomes Aero-200 and AeroMini becomes Aero-30. This approach not only reinforces clarity but also strengthens the link between engineering specifications and real-world operational outcomes.

"Clarity and transparency are key for our partners and customers as we enter the commercial phase. With Aero-200, our product name now directly indicates the aircraft’s MTOW, simplifying orientation across our product line and underscoring our readiness to scale," said Sascha Hardegger, CEO of Dufour Aerospace.

More than a name change, this evolution marks a progression from a pure development company to a full system provider in uncrewed aviation. As the Aero-200 advances toward market readiness, Dufour Aerospace reaffirms its commitment to delivering sustainable, reliable, and customer-focused solutions for logistics, public safety, and critical missions.
